Nomatic

THE
CHALLENGE

THE PROBLEM
Nomatic, known for its premium travel bags, approached WERX to bring its signature design into a new arena: technical, high-performance apparel. What began as an industry connection fast-tracked into partnership when Nomatic’s CEO reached out to explore how their aesthetic could translate into this fresh category.
THE PROCESS
Together, we aimed to source high-performance fabrics tailored for travelers in diverse climates, develop fits and styles their audience actually wanted, and partner with manufacturers who could support fast growth with aligned production timelines.
The journey began in our studio, where Nomatic brought inspiration pieces and a clear vision, giving us a runway to elevate fabric, fit, and function to true Nomatic caliber. In parallel, we refined fabric developments (stretch wovens, double-knit jerseys, technical woven insulations) while sketching styles, launching into prototypes that brought form and performance to life. We navigated factories in two countries, aligning sampling, construction, and washes — solving surprises along the way to stay on track and launch-ready.
THE RESULT
The collection launched via a highly successful Kickstarter, exceeding funding goals and drawing glowing reviews, followed by rapid sell-outs. Customer feedback then sharpened further fit refinements for the reorder cycle, proving the design process translated directly into market response.
Since launch, Nomatic continues scaling its apparel line, leveraging the production partners and processes WERX helped establish. With streamlined ops and fit precision dialed in, they’re confidently expanding into new categories, carrying the same clarity and momentum forward.
A NOTE FROM NOMATIC
"We’ve partnered with the Werx team for years as we expanded into custom travel apparel. From initial concepts to sourcing materials and refining fit through multiple sampling rounds, Mike and Sasha guided us every step of the way. They connected us with the right factories, oversaw production and delivery, and ensured every detail met the highest standards. As Nomatic continues to grow its apparel line, Werx remains a trusted partner, offering invaluable expertise and support." - Dan Rowe, Director of Product Design

THE
PROCESS
WERX guided the journey step by step, starting with in-house prototyping to test fit, comfort, and adjustability. From there, we partnered with overseas factories to bring the vision to life, iterating through multiple sampling rounds and refining construction details until every element held up to real-world use. Alongside the core vest, we developed supporting gear to expand the system into a complete product offering, anchored in functionality and designed with precision
